Abstract

The text addresses the importance of Planetary Health Education in light of Madeleine Leininger's Transcultural Theory, in the face of climate change and environmental degradation. It highlights the urgency of educational practices that consider the interconnection between health, society, and the environment, while recognizing the cultural specificities of different populations. Nursing, as a care-centered profession, plays a central role in health promotion, especially in contexts of socio-environmental inequalities and vulnerabilities. Leininger's Theory proposes culturally sensitive care that integrates traditional and professional knowledge, respecting values, beliefs, and ways of life. In this sense, transcultural care is essential to face contemporary challenges, promoting health actions adapted to local realities. A paradigm shift is thus necessary, integrating ecological, social, and cultural aspects into professional practice to strengthen care, mitigate diseases, and promote a life of dignity.
